PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) \u2014 Three people are displaced, and a firefighter is hospitalized after a fire broke out inside a South Philly row home early Saturday.<\/p>\n
Officials said the fire started just after 5:30 a.m. in the basement of a home near 11th and Wharton Streets \u2014 about a block from Pat\u2019s King of Steaks.<\/p>\n
Those inside the home were able to escape without injuries but can\u2019t return due to the damage. The American Red Cross is helping. <\/p>\n
Neighbor Nick Cotelesa said smoke filled the streets as firefighters worked to extinguish the flames, which posed a bit of a challenge due to apparent hoarding conditions inside the home. <\/p>\n
According to our newsgathering partners at NBC10, a firefighter was injured but is expected to be OK. <\/p>\n
\u201cEverybody did a great job, to tell you the truth. And the community and everybody came together; one guy went and got Dunkin\u2019 Donuts for everybody,\u201d Cotelesa said.<\/p>\n
