HAMBURG, Pa. \u2013 A Berks County town celebrated what might be the most American meal of all: the hamburger.<\/p>\n
“The hamburger was invented in Hamburg, Germany, centuries ago. Now, people from all over come to Hamburg, Pennsylvania, for the Taste of Hamburger festival.”<\/p>\n
A small town brought some big flavor as hundreds of people swarmed Hamburg on Saturday for its 23rd Taste of Hamburg-er Festival.<\/p>\n
“What\u2019s better than eating some burgers with your buddies and having a good time?\u201d said Braydon Brown.<\/p>\n
Some attendees were trying to eat as many as possible.<\/p>\n
“I’m going to try and eat at least 25 burgers,\u201d one man said.<\/p>\n
Others just tried one here and there.<\/p>\n
“This is my first one\u201d said Jacquelyne Arnold. \u201cMy second one\u2019s waiting for me at the smash taco burgers.\u201d<\/p>\n
From simple recipes to new creations, there were big, bold flavors for everyone.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe chocolate burger is like chocolate and marshmallow sauce and peanut butter,\u201d Arnold said. \u201cThat one\u2019s different; it\u2019s unique.”<\/p>\n
More than 40 vendors competed for the public’s vote for best burger. 69 News asked what would create the perfect one.<\/p>\n
\u201cA smash burger with chopped ribeye on top of the burger with their house sauce,\u201d Brown said.<\/p>\n
The most unique recipe they’ve seen: “Glazed doughnut burger,\u201d one man said. \u201cI heard they\u2019re fantastic, so I want to try one next.\u201d<\/p>\n
