{"id":280254,"date":"2026-09-06T10:58:08","date_gmt":"2026-09-06T10:58:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/280254\/"},"modified":"2026-09-06T10:58:08","modified_gmt":"2026-09-06T10:58:08","slug":"annual-memorial-service-for-9-11-held-in-lackawanna-county","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/280254\/","title":{"rendered":"Annual memorial service for 9\/11 held in Lackawanna County"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>EAGLE LAKE, Pa. \u2014 One week from today marks the 25th anniversary of 9\/11, and a community in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wnep.com\/section\/lackawanna-county\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Lackawanna County<\/a> honored the grim milestone with an annual memorial service.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Eagle Lake Community Association held the somber ceremony along Hughes Boulevard in Covington Township beginning at 11 this morning.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This is the 18th year the association has held the service.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>                                            &#13;<br \/>\n                                                <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wnep.com\/assets\/shared-images\/icons\/arrow-circle-down.svg\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>                                            &#13;<br \/>\n                                                This story continues below.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Organizers say the memorial acts as a way to remember and honor veterans, emergency responders, and all the innocent lives lost during the September 11th attacks.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s especially sentimental when you hear the stories. No story is the same. It never gets old listening to them, and I think for me, um, I was alive. I do remember where I was.
