The University of Scranton is one of America\u2019s Best Colleges, according to an inaugural ranking produced by TIME Magazine in partnership with data research firm Statista.<\/p>\n
TIME\u2019s list consists of 500 colleges and universities that earned the highest final scores based on a model structured around three key pillars: Student Outcomes, Learning Environment and Attractiveness.<\/p>\n
The rankings were weighted heavily toward Student Outcomes, which accounted for 75% of a college\u2019s final grade. According to TIME, this category \u201cassesses what students gain from attending an institution, measured after they leave it.\u201d TIME used\u00a0three data components \u2014 graduates\u2019 earnings, graduation rate and return\u00a0on education \u2014 to\u00a0determine\u00a0each college\u2019s Student Outcomes value.<\/p>\n
The University of Scranton had\u00a0a strong performance\u00a0in the Student Outcomes pillar, ranking No. 150 in the nation.<\/p>\n
Overall, Scranton is No. 241, ranking ahead of in-state colleges and universities including Washington and Jefferson, Duquesne,\u00a0Pitt and Temple, among others.<\/p>\n
