\t\t\tOBITUARY\t\t<\/p>\n
Karen A. Holmes, 56, of South Scranton died Tuesday September 8, 2026 at the Geisinger C.M.C. She was the widow of Brendan P. Holmes who died on December 29, 2017.<\/p>\n
\nBorn in Scranton, she was the daughter of Irene Kuehner Jones and the late Allen Jones. A graduate of Scranton Technical High School, Class of 1987 and Lackawanna College. She was an avid Penn State fan.<\/p>\n
\nShe was the world\u2019s best grandma who enjoyed spending time watching her grandkids play baseball.<\/p>\n
\nAlso surviving are daughter Robin Selemba, Scranton; grandchildren Logan, Ashlee, Thomas and Connor; boyfriend Jeff Nocella; brother Mark Jones and wife Prudence, Texas; nephew Phillip Skinner and niece Peyton Skinner; several cousins.<\/p>\n
\nShe was preceded in death by niece Briley Jones.<\/p>\n
\nFuneral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home, 436 Cedar Ave. Scranton. Interment, Abington Hills Cemetery. Friends and family may call Friday morning from 9:30 am until service time in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Wellness of Center of NEPA, cancerwellnessnepa.org.<\/p>\n
