later assumed full responsibility<\/a> and attributed the erroneous report to a clerical error, Acho drew on one of his own experiences from his NFL playing days to explain what he believes actually happened.<\/p>\nWithout specifying which of the three teams he played for at the time, Acho recalled once rear-ending another vehicle on his way to practice.<\/p>\n
\u201cI (call) one of our security people. He says, Acho, when the cop shows up, send the cop away. I\u2019m going to send you another cop, and that other cop is going to say it wasn\u2019t your fault; it was their fault. I was like, \u2018Wait, they do that?\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201cSo I hit him, cop comes up, \u2018Hey, is everything good?\u2019 I\u2019m like, \u2018Yeah, yeah, everything\u2019s good,\u00a0 don\u2019t worry about it, somebody\u2019s gonna come here.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201cThat cop leaves; we send another cop. The other cop that comes to document says that she\u2019s at fault.\u201d<\/p>\n
Acho said that he didn\u2019t feel bad about the situation because the other driver claimed that she and her daughter were injured after figuring out that he was a professional athlete.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur head of security had to offer them two home tickets plus signed jerseys,\u201d he said, \u201cand then they were like, \u2018Oh, no, we\u2019re fine.’\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cNiners got ahead of it,\u201d Acho speculated. \u201cHey, Shanahan, it wasn\u2019t you, it was them. Shanahan\u2019s like, \u2018hell nah, they finna come out and say what really happened, so let me get ahead of it and say, no, no, no, I\u2019m at fault, before this person who I actually hit, who knows I was at fault, says it.’\u201d<\/p>\n
Following Acho\u2019s comments, speculation arose that DiSandro was the head of security who aided Acho, and on Wednesday, longtime Eagles reporter Derrick Gunn shared the consequences of what the former linebacker almost certainly assumed would be a throwaway story.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe\u00a0NFL is still investigating Eagles head of security Dom DiSandro based on comments made by Emmanuel Acho on his Speakeasy Podcast back in early August,\u201d Gunn posted on X<\/a>. \u201cAcho, who played for 3 NFL teams, never mentioned a name.\u00a0But it has been widely speculated he was referring to Big Dom.\u201d<\/p>\nIf DiSandro is the person Acho was referring to, the NFL could make an example of the Eagles by punishing the franchise in an effort to deter other teams from engaging in similar behavior.
