Reading and Muhlenberg Township have their own food safety inspectors and the rest of the county is inspected by Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture inspectors.<\/p>\n<p>All food vendors are inspected at least once a year. Other inspections can be triggered by a change of owner, a follow up if a facility had been out of compliance or by a complaint filed with the PDA.<\/p>\n<p>View any vendor\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pafoodsafety.pa.gov\/Web\/Inspection\/PublicInspectionSearch.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">last inspection report\u00a0online<\/a>. Click on the PDF version of the inspection report for all details.<\/p>\n<p>If a food provider is labeled out of compliance, that means it has one or more violations that require a return visit by an inspector. The establishment is given time to fix the problem(s) and remains open for business.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.agriculture.pa.gov\/consumer_protection\/FoodSafety\/Pages\/Food-Safety-Complaints.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Complaints can be filed online<\/a>\u00a0with the PDA.<\/p>\n<p>Below are the results of inspections conducted between Aug. 25 and Sept. 8, 2026, that were filed in the state database as of Sept. 10 at 12:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Berks<\/p>\n<p>Domino\u2019s 4753, 2844 Penn Ave., Reading , Sept. 8: no violations.<\/p>\n<p>La Casa Del Pollo Asado Mff 4 Xnt0259, 1054 Greenwich St., Reading , Sept. 8: no violations.<\/p>\n<p>Reiffton Fire Company, 46 W. 33rd St., Reading , Sept. 8: no violations.<\/p>\n<p>Star City Diner And Pizza Parlor, 600 Shoemaker Ave., Shoemakersville , Sept. 8: two violations. Refrigerated ready to eat, time\/temperature control for safety food prepared in the food facility and held for more than 24 hours, located in the walk-in cooler and refrigerator at the cookline, is not being date marked. Corrected.<\/p>\n<p>Choice Products &amp; Wernersville Cheese Shop, 250 Holland St., Wernersville , Sept. 4: no violations.<\/p>\n<p>Memos Mff Tf3-Nj-W26tbs, 83 Community Center Drive, Kempton , Sept. 3: one violation. Observed deeply scored cutting boards not resurfaced or discarded as required.<\/p>\n<p>Qban Cabana Tfs3 @ Karnival Of The Arts, 83 Community Center Drive, Kempton , Sept. 3: two violations. An open employee\u2019s beverage container was observed in a food preparation area. Corrected. Food employees observed in food area not wearing proper hair restraints such as nets or hats. Corrected.<\/p>\n<p>What About Bobs Tfs4 @ Karnival Of The Arts, 83 Community Center Drive, Kempton , Sept. 3: no violations.<\/p>\n<p>Zion Farm Bbq, 118 Miller Road, Mohnton , Sept. 3: no violations.<\/p>\n<p>Birdsboro Mart, 6600 Perkiomen Ave., Birdsboro , Sept. 2: nine violations. Plumbing system not maintained in good repair \u2013 observed water leaking at one of the handwash sinks in the restroom. The Person in Charge does not have adequate control of food safety in this food facility as evidenced by this non-compliant inspection. The handwash sink in the back sink area was blocked by clutter on the floor and was not accessible at all times for employee use. The water temperature at the wash compartment of the 3-compartment manual warewashing sink in the back room was 78\u00b0F, rather than not less than 110\u00b0F, as required. Unused equipment stored in the 3-compartment sink area and the back room near the walk-in cooler should be removed from the food facility. There is an accumulation of dirt\/debris\/residue on the floor and counters in the kitchen area behind the drink counter. The handwash sinks located in the front kitchen, back sink, and restroom areas do not have water at a temperature of at least 85\u00b0F. Roof is leaking water in the skills games area and is in need of repair. Potential rodent harborage areas inside the food facility observed in the area outside the walk-in cooler and the back sink room due to clutter. Food facility inspection indicates evidence of rodent activity. Facility may need to increase the frequence of their pest control program. Out of complliance.<\/p>\n<p>Franklyn\u2019s Breakfast Burgers &amp; Shakes (Xsd9413) Mff4, 9 Morgan Drive, Reading , Sept. 2: no violations.<\/p>\n<p>Healthy U Fitness, 1291 Penn Ave., Wyomissing , Sept. 2: one violation. The hot water handle for the handwash sink at the drink bar is loose and not operating properly.<\/p>\n<p>Hong Kong, 51 King Plaza, Oley , Sept. 2: two violations. Soap was not available at the handwash sink in the kitchen area. Corrected. Ceiling tile missing in the back dry storage area needs to be replaced.<\/p>\n<p>Boyers Food Market #66229, 7166 Bernville Road, Bernville , Sept. 1: one violation. Ceiling tiles missing in the back food storage area need to be replaced.<\/p>\n<p>Duck Donuts, 86 Commerce Drive, Wyomissing , Sept. 1: three violations. Soap dispenser for the back handwash sink has fallen off the wall and is not currently usable. Bulk food ingredient storage containers are not labeled with the common name of the food. Scoops being stored in the bulk dry toppings bins with handle touching the product.<\/p>\n<p>Golden Oaks Golf Club, 10 Stonehedge Drive, Fleetwood , Sept. 1: four violations. Filters not observed on hood system area above deep fryers. Thermometers for ensuring proper temperatures of food are not available or readily accessible in refrigeration units. PIC provided thermometers during inspection. Observed the following equipment with an accumulation of food residue and\/or debris on non-food contact surfaces: -ice machine -mop bucket -grill and cooking line equipment. Draft beer dispenser in the bar area has a hose attachment that is draining into a bucket and is hanging below the flood rim of the sink and not an appropriate air gap.<\/p>\n<p>New York Bagelry, 2720 Penn Ave., West Lawn , Sept. 1: one violation. Two food employees observed in kitchen area not wearing proper hair restraints, such as nets or hats.<\/p>\n<p>Dunkin Donuts, 800 Crossing Blvd., Elverson , Aug. 31: three violations. Food contact surface of plastic pitcher is not smooth, easily cleanable and\/or resistant to pitting, cracking or scratching. Observed plastic pitcher with a crack near the top. Corrected (discarded). Paper towel dispenser empty at the handwash sink in the back area next to ice machine. Corrected. Food employees observed in kitchen area, not wearing proper hair restraints, such as nets, hats, or beard covers.<\/p>\n<p>Firefly Forest Bakehouse @ Stonersville Hotel, 5701 Boyertown Pike, Birdsboro , Aug. 31: no violations.<\/p>\n<p>Good Friend Chinese Restaurant., 206 Crossings Blvd., Elverson , Aug. 31: nine violations. Observed the shelving in the walk-in cooler to be rusted and corroding creating a surface that is not easily cleanable. Observed the front grill area to have plexiglass that is fastened to the table and the area around the bottom perimeter is covered with clear tape creating a surface that is not easily cleanable. Tape is not an approved material for repairs. The Person in Charge did not demonstrate adequate knowledge of food safety in this food facility as evidenced by this non-compliant inspection. Refrigerated ready to eat, time\/temperature control for safety foods prepared in the food facility and held for more than 24 hours, located in the walk-in cooler, Bain Marie and refrigerator, are not being date marked. Corrected. Multiple foods in the kitchen area stored open with no covering. Food in the refrigerator, Bain Main Marie and walk-in cooler stored uncovered. Corrected. Food facility is reusing plastic to go containers as scoops, which is intended to be a single-service or single-use article. Corrected. Observed the plexiglass around the front grill, in front prep area, with an accumulation of grease and food residue on non-food contact surfaces. Observed the fan grates and the ceiling in the walk-in cooler to have dust and apparent mold growth. Crab Rangoons, a refrigerated ready to eat time\/temperature control for safety food, in the front refrigerator area, was not compliant with datemarking by being labeled with a discard or use by date of no more than 7 days, and requires discarding. Corrected. Can opener, a food contact surface, was observed to have food residue and was not clean to sight and touch. Can opener was also completely rusted. Corrected. Replaced with new can opener during this inspection. Out of compliance.<\/p>\n<p>Morgantown Coffee House, 4997 Twin Valley Road Suite 2, Elverson , Aug. 31: two violations. Interior of the ice machine, a food contact surface, was observed to have apparent slime build up and was not clean to sight and touch. Non-food contact surfaces not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dirt and soil. Summit Ave., Shillington , August 27: three violations. Multiple foods were held at 120\u00b0F, in the hot hold area, rather than 135\u00b0F or above as required. Raw shell eggs stored above ready-to-eat food in the refrigerator. Corrected. Multiple food ingredient storage containers, in the prep area, is not labeled with the common name of the food. Corrected.<\/p>\n<p>Aunt Nannie\u2019s Bake Shop, 913 Route 100, Bechtelsville , August 26: one violation. Chlorine chemical sanitizer residual detected in the final sanitizer rinse cycle of the low temperature sanitizing dishwasher was 0 ppm, and not 50-100 ppm as required. PIC instructed to clean and sanitize utensils and equipment in the 3-bay warewashing sink until the dishwasher is functioning properly.<\/p>\n<p>Saucony Creek Brewing Company, 15032 Kutztown Road, Kutztown , August 26: two violations. Floor perimeters in the prep area along the cooking line observed with grease accumulation and residue. One of the small scoops behind the bar is stored in a container with standing water. Corrected. The drain line for the handwash sink behind the bar is not connected to the sink. Corrected. Door to the outside located in the back area of the food facility is being propped open without any screening. Food facility does not have sanitizer test strips to determine appropriate sanitizer concentration at the glass washer (chlorine-based sanitizer).<\/p>\n<p>Winnie\u2019s Tea Bar, 402 Penn Ave., West Reading , August 26: two violations.
