Pennsylvania State Police warned businesses and establishments Wednesday that they could soon face penalties for operating skill game machines.<\/p>\n
The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania ruled June 15<\/a> that skill games are slot machines, as defined in the Gaming Act<\/a>. <\/p>\n RELATED COVERAGE >>> Pennsylvanians weigh court ruling that could lead to taxation on skill games<\/a><\/p>\n Under the Crimes Code, slot machines are considered gambling devices, and those without a license commit a crime by owning, operating or maintaining one. <\/p>\n If unlicensed establishments operate skill games, they could be criminally prosecuted and have their machines seized starting Oct. 14, state police say. <\/p>\n RELATED COVERAGE >>> Dozens rally in favor of skill games in Pennsylvania after Supreme Court ruling<\/a><\/p>\n PSP recommends that businesses discuss with their distributors or vendors about removing any skill games and related equipment.
