It\u2019s a season of change for the PHS Pop-Up Gardens. <\/a><\/p>\n While the South Street location is gearing up for another fall filled with events, the Manayunk garden is preparing for its final season.<\/p>\n The Manayunk garden, located at 106 Jamestown Avenue just off Main Street, will close for good on Oct. 5, bringing an end to a run that began in 2020.<\/p>\n But before then, there\u2019s still plenty happening.<\/p>\n A fall full of plants, music and community<\/p>\n At the South Street Pop-Up Garden, fall programming includes a mix of gardening, creativity and laid-back ways to spend time outdoors.<\/p>\n Plant lovers can bring their green thumbs to the September Plant Swap<\/a> on Sept. 15, while aspiring artists can try Figure Drawing on Sept. 17. Jazz fans can settle in for live music on Sept. 20, and gardeners can learn how to preserve seeds from their favorite plants at the Heirloom Seed Saving Workshop<\/a> on Sept. 29.<\/p>\n The garden’s plant programming continues in October with another Plant Swap<\/a> on Oct. 6, giving gardeners another chance to exchange plants, cuttings, and tips with the PHS community.<\/p>\n And if you’re simply looking for a place to enjoy lunch or an afternoon outside, the South Street garden will continue opening at noon throughout the fall.<\/p>\n The garden will remain open through Halloween, with the possibility of additional weekends depending on weather, organizers said.\u00a0<\/p>\n One last fall in Manayunk<\/p>\n Over in Manayunk, the fall season is as much about celebrating the garden as it is about enjoying it.<\/p>\n This season, guests can join weekly Quizzo<\/a> on Wednesdays and Karaoke on Saturdays, along with special events and horticultural programming.<\/p>\n Plant lovers can join the September Plant Swap<\/a> on Sept. 14, get creative at a Paint & Sip Workshop<\/a> on Sept. 19, and learn how to collect and preserve seeds for future growing seasons at an Heirloom Seed Saving Workshop<\/a> on Sept. 28. \u00a0The garden’s final Plant Swap<\/a> will take place Oct. 5.<\/p>\n Celebrating the final season in Manayunk<\/p>\n That final event will be more than just a chance to swap plants. It will mark the official close of the Manayunk garden and give the community a chance to celebrate the space.<\/p>\n For years, the PHS Pop-Up Garden has served as a green oasis in the neighborhood, bringing together residents, plant lovers and visitors for food, drinks, events and plenty of time outdoors.<\/p>\n PHS<\/a> says its Pop-Up Garden model has always been about temporarily transforming spaces into welcoming neighborhood gathering places \u2014 places where gardening and community can grow side by side.<\/p>\n PHS officials said they are exploring potential sites and neighborhoods for future Pop-Up Gardens, with the goal of bringing the concept to more communities throughout the city.<\/p>\n For now, though, there’s still time to enjoy one last season in Manayunk.<\/p>\n Locations and hours\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n The Pop-Up Garden at South Street is located at 1438 South Street.
