(WJET\/WFXP<\/a>) \u2014 A local water park will transform into a dog park this weekend.<\/p>\n

The Erie Humane Society will host a “Wags, Waves & Waldameer” event on Sunday, September 13, offering dog owners a chance to bring their companions to the park for an afternoon of swimming and socializing.<\/p>\n

The end-of-summer experience will run from 1 to 3 p.m. at Waldameer Water World.<\/p>\n

“Our goal is to bring the community together while creating a fun experience for dogs and their families,” said Peggy Schneider, Erie Humane Society executive director. “We are excited to partner with Waldameer for an event that celebrates dogs and Waldameer’s wave pool while supporting the important work of our animal shelter.”<\/p>\n

Dogs will be able to swim in Waldameer’s Wave Pool while families can take part in photo opportunities with their dog. Dog owners are responsible for their pet at all times and dogs must remain leashed when not in the water.<\/p>\n

Participating dog owners must also show proof of current dog license and rabies vaccination. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Admission is $20 per dog and handler and $5 for spectators.<\/p>\n
