A Dickson City man fought with officers, injured the Olyphant police chief with a handcuff and threatened an officer and his family, according to a criminal complaint.<\/p>\n
Terrance Leland-Credle, of 1013 Main St., faces charges of assault, terroristic threats, trespass and disorderly conduct.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, Olyphant Police Chief James DeVoe responded to Willow Avenue and Grant Street near an apartment building, for the report of disorderly conduct, according to the criminal complaint.<\/p>\n
When DeVoe approached Leland-Credle indicating that he was being detained for trespassing, the 39-year-old attempted to walk away.<\/p>\n
He then became combative, lunging at a maintenance worker and threatening to kill him.<\/p>\n
When DeVoe attempted to put Leland-Credle in handcuffs, the suspect kicked back at him.<\/p>\n
After one handcuff was secured, Leland-Credle resisted, pulling backward and cutting DeVoe\u2019s arm. After the second handcuff was secured, Leland-Credle continued to struggle as he was being placed in the police car, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n
Police said Leland-Credle continued making threats while he was being transported to the police station, including threats to find and harm an officer\u2019s family.<\/p>\n
Leland-Credle said he knew where the officer lived and would find him after he was released from jail, according to police.<\/p>\n
Officers allege Leland-Credle had been outside the Willow Avenue apartments, despite knowing he was not permitted there and that he had previously threatened people living in apartments there.<\/p>\n
Leland-Credle remains at the Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.<\/p>\n
