<\/p>\nOne person is dead following a shooting outside of a Five Below store in Philadelphia on Friday, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.<\/p>\n
The shooting happened just before 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 11, 2026, in the parking lot of the Bakers Centre shopping center on the 2800 block of Fox Street in the Nicetown section of North Philadelphia, officials said. <\/p>\n
According to Philadelphia Police Inspector D.F. Pace, a driver approached a Pennsylvania State Constable who was working as security for the shopping center and reported a struggle behind the stores. <\/p>\n
The constable got into his vehicle and drove to the back of the stores where he said he saw people struggling inside a black-colored SUV, Pace reported. <\/p>\n
When the constable tried to intervene, the SUV drove off, according to Pace. There was also a second car that the constable saw drive off too but detectives are not sure if it is connected. <\/p>\n
Then, the constable saw a 25-year-old man on the sidewalk of the shopping center suffering from gunshot wounds so he called the Philadelphia Police Department, Pace said. <\/p>\n
When officers got to the scene, they picked up the man and drove him to a nearby hospital where he died, Pace explained. <\/p>\n
Moments later, Pace said that another call came in reporting that a black Honda SUV was found abandoned in a cemetery on the 3200 block of West Clearfield Street. <\/p>\n
Police who responded to that scene said they found the ignition of the SUV broken with a lot of blood inside the vehicle and one window was shattered. <\/p>\n
Pace told NBC10 that detectives were able to confirm that the 25-year-old shooting victim is the registered owner of the black Honda SUV. <\/p>\n
SkyForce10 was over the scene just before 6 p.m. on Sept. 11 where we could see several police cars and officers outside of the Five Below store. <\/p>\n
