A teen is recovering in the hospital after being shot four times during a gunfight on Friday, according to the Philadelphia Police Department. <\/p>\n
The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 11, 2026, near the intersection of Broad Street and Allegheny Avenue in North Philadelphia, police said. <\/p>\n
Surveillance video shows a 19-year-old boy limping to the SEPTA platform before he was taken to a nearby hospital by a private vehicle where he was placed in stable condition, police reported. <\/p>\n
Police say he was also one of the shooters.<\/p>\n
At the scene several shell casings could be seen on the sidewalk as police blocked off the area.<\/p>\n
Just minutes later and about five blocks away at 16th and Clearfield streets, police say a pizza delivery driver was carjacked while making a delivery.<\/p>\n
Police say the driver left his Jeep running with his 14-year-old son inside when a man then jumped into the SUV, taking the vehicle and the teenager.<\/p>\n
Police say the 14-year-old escaped and officers later recovered the SUV and arrested the alleged carjacker.<\/p>\n
Because the incidents happened so close together, police initially believed they could be connected.<\/p>\n
But investigators later determined the shooting and carjacking were not related.<\/p>\n
No arrests have been made yet and detectives said they do not know the motive behind this shooting. <\/p>\n
