2026-27 Best Hospitals edition<\/a>.<\/p>\nThe rating is the highest distinction a hospital can earn as part of U.S. News\u2019 best hospitals procedures and conditions ratings, with fewer than half of the thousands of hospitals evaluated earning the designation in the types of care evaluated by the organization.<\/p>\n
Reading Hospital was named one of the top seven best regional hospitals in Pennsylvania and earned national recognition for orthopedics.<\/p>\n
The hospital also earned a \u201chigh performing\u201d status in specialties and procedures including: diabetes and endocrinology, heart bypass surgery, lung cancer surgery, gynecological cancer surgery, leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, heart and kidney failure, COPD, pneumonia, heart arrhythmia and stroke.<\/p>\n

Phoenixville received \u201chigh performing\u201d status for rehabilitation and heart attack treatment.<\/p>\n

To create its list, U.S. News evaluated nearly 4,500 hospitals across 14 adult specialties and 23 procedures and conditions. It analyzed each hospital\u2019s performance based on objective measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications and patient experience, according to the magazine.<\/p>\n
The ratings are designed to assist patients and their health care providers in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or elective procedures.<\/p>\n
