A motorcyclist and a motor scooter rider died after two separate crashes that occurred in the Allentown area Friday night.<\/p>\n
In the first crash at 9:05 p.m., a 39-year-old man was riding a motorcycle when it was involved in a crash with another vehicle in the 1100 block of East Susquehanna Street, Salisbury Township, according to a news release from Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio.<\/p>\n
The man was taken to St. Luke\u2019s University Hospital in Fountain Hill, where he was pronounced dead at 10:08 p.m., Buglio said.<\/p>\n
The second crash happened around 11:35 p.m. in the 1600 block of South Fourth Street in Allentown. A 42-year-old woman was riding a motor scooter that was involved in a crash with a vehicle.<\/p>\n
She was pronounced dead at 3:01 a.m. Saturday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Buglio said.<\/p>\n
The coroner\u2019s office declined to name the victims Saturday, saying it wanted to give their relatives \u201ctime to notify additional family members and privately grieve this sudden and tragic loss.\u201d<\/p>\n
Autopsies are scheduled for both individuals Monday at the Lehigh County Coroner\u2019s Office & Forensic Center.<\/p>\n
