In this week’s 16 To The Rescue we are featuring dogs we first introduced you to about a month ago when they were rescued from a horrific hoarding situation. <\/p>\n

DALLAS, Pa. \u2014 In this week’s 16 To The Rescue, we are featuring dogs we first introduced you to about a month ago when they were rescued from a horrific hoarding situation.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Seeing how they act like their past didn’t happen. They’ve come so far, they really should not be this friendly, so it’s really cool just seeing them basically forget about what happen to them, it’s really fun to watch,” said Emma Brobst, Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But they are safe now, so it’s no wonder these dogs are happy and thriving at Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge<\/a> near Dallas. These boys, along with dozens and dozens of others, were rescued from a horrific hoarding situation in Pittston last month. 21 of those dogs came to Blue Chip.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Out of the 21 that we had, we only have these six left up for adoption, so we wanted to highlight them because they came from a really bad situation, and all of them have come super far, and they adore all people now,” Brobst said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

And rescue workers at Blue Chip say all of the others who have since been adopted are doing so well in their new and forever homes; now it’s time for the rest of them. Four are living at the rescue in Luzerne County; they are all boys. Sven is the oldest, about 4 years old, full of personality, and loves to play. Jetsam is 1-2 years old and is the most outgoing of the group. Pumbaa is 1-2 years old, is more nervous, and should go to a home with another dog.<\/p>\n

And Flotsam is also 1-2 years old, and rescue workers say he is a bit tougher. He should not go to a home with kids. He can go to a home with other dogs, just not any of his brothers because he is protective of them. There is also a bonded pair of girls living at Maxwell House in Pittston. Anna and Elsa must be adopted together.<\/p>\n

“When they first came in, they would shake so hard you could hear their whole entire crate rattling. It was really bad. We at first really did not know what we were going to do. Shockingly, it did not take long. We were expecting to have these dogs for a long time, but they really came out of their shells fast,” said Brobst.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Rescue workers have no idea what breed they are; they all have similar looks, but they have their differences, too. They are crate-trained, getting good on a leash, and understand the idea of house training now that they’re learning how to be dogs for the first time.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Now everyone enjoys going on walks; they’ll go to the bathroom on walks. When I take them out here, they go to the bathroom. So they definitely understand it; it’s just the needing an actual routine in a house,” Brobst said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Rescue workers say they can’t believe it has only taken them a month to come this far. From being terrified of their own shadows, too afraid to function, to absolutely loving their new life.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“These dogs just adore people now that they know they are safe. It’s very rewarding earning their trust. They’re just phenomenal dogs. They have a lot of puppy behavior still because they never got a chance to be puppies, but other than that they’re well behaved and really great dogs,” said Brobst.\u00a0<\/p>\n
