EASTON, Pa. – Pennsylvania State Police say a man was shot and killed after a\u00a0confrontation at a home in\u00a0West Easton.<\/p>\n
Troopers responded to the\u00a0100 block of Spring Street for the report of a shooting shortly before 9 a.m.\u00a0Saturday, state police said in a news release.<\/p>\n
State police said a 52-year-old man was\u00a0shot and killed inside the home after a confrontation with two other people inside the home.<\/p>\n
\u201cUpon arrival, troopers gained entry into the residence and found a 52-year-old deceased male with gunshot wounds inside the residence,\u201d\u00a0Trooper Nathan Branosky said.<\/p>\n
Branosky said the man lived at the home.<\/p>\n
There is no threat to the public,\u00a0state police said.<\/p>\n
Spring Street is closed between East Street and Ridge Street for the investigation.<\/p>\n
The Northampton County Coroner\u2019s Office responded to the scene and will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death. The victim\u2019s identity has not been released.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Other people who were inside the home were taken in for questioning, according to State Police.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Investigators\u2019 next steps include obtaining a search warrant, conducting additional interviews, and working with the Northampton County Coroner\u2019s Office and District Attorney\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
The investigation is currently ongoing by the Troop M Major Case Team.
