BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA \u2014 Work has begun on the new Imagination Land Playground.<\/p>\n
Township officials said construction has started on the playground replacement project, which has been two years in the making.<\/p>\n
“The current structure has served us well, but it\u2019s time for something new and fun for kids of all ages,” officials said.<\/p>\n
The project’s completion will be weather-dependent, officials said.<\/p>\n
The project was conceived two years ago as officials formulated design ideas with General Recreation Inc.<\/p>\n
Since then, project designs were set in January 2024, with the council approving the project in May. In November 2024, a $386,300 grant from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) was awarded.<\/p>\n
The new playground will focus on accessibility with modern equipment and updated safety surfaces\u2014 a space where families can enjoy, play, and explore together.<\/p>\n
Officials said the new playground will feature equipment for all children, including an ADA-accessible carousel, adaptive swing\/zip line seats, ADA belt ladders, and sensory stations, to name a few.<\/p>\n
