NAZARETH TWP., Pa. &#8211; The Colonial Regional Police Department is honoring its police chief, who is retiring.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Jim DePalma is retiring after \u201cyears of dedicated service, leadership, and commitment to both our department and the community,\u201d the Colonial Regional Police Association said in a Facebook post.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour leadership, guidance, and dedication have made a lasting impact on the officers and community you served,\u201d the association said in the post.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are grateful for the time, commitment, and sacrifices you have given throughout your career.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The association says Darrin Wendling will become the new police chief.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Enstrom has been promoted to Lieutenant, Keith Kulp has been promoted to Detective Sergeant, and Justin Schippang has been promoted to Sergeant, the association says.<\/p>\n<p>The Colonial Regional Police Department serves Lower Nazareth Township and Hanover Township, Northampton County.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On its website, Lower Nazareth Township said the week of Sept. 13 will be James DePalma week, in honor of his commitment to the community.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"L.
