PALMER TWP., Pa. \u2013 A growing business plans to mark its new location in a Northampton County shopping center with a variety of promotions later this month.<\/p>\n
Kyogre Kards, a trading card game seller offering cards, figurines, accessories and more, will hold a grand opening of its new store on Sept. 26 at 3087 William Penn Highway in Palmer Township, according to an online announcement.<\/p>\n
The new store, Kyogre Kards\u2019 first physical location, will occupy a renovated space that previously housed a GameStop location in the William Penn Plaza.<\/p>\n

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Sept. 26, and the first 100 customers will receive an exclusive thank you gift.<\/p>\n
Other grand opening festivities will include food and drinks and exclusive raffles. Guests also will be able to play Pokemon pinball free on grand opening weekend.<\/p>\n
Kyogre Kards\u2019 new store will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sept. 26 and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sept. 27, with recurring store hours of 1-8 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays to follow.<\/p>\n
Husband and wife Andrew Hartzell and Kailei Picciotti established Kyogre Kards about four years ago, and the business has built a large and loyal following through online sales and appearances at local trading card game shows.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have been running and operating our business online for the last four years, and we do something called \u2018Rip \u2018n Ships,\u2019 where someone places an order for a sealed Pok\u00e9mon card from us, and we open it on a live stream, and we all react,\u201d Picciotti told 69 News.<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople can win prizes if certain cards are pulled, and so it\u2019s a fun group and community experience. We also vend at local card shows almost every weekend. There are a lot of card shows in this area.\u201d<\/p>\n
In January 2023, Picciotti and Hartzell received an unexpected opportunity when Orca Shop Co, an influencer marketing and livestream shopping company, approached them with an idea: start a Pok\u00e9mon TCG live stream shop, according to an account on\u00a0Kyogre Kards\u2019 website<\/a>.<\/p>\n As lifelong fans of the hobby, they seized the opportunity, naming their shop Kyogre Kards \u2014 a nod to the orca in Orca Shop\u2019s name \u2014 before starting to stream regularly.<\/p>\n They purchased the business from Orca Shop in August 2023, and since then, Kyogre Kards has grown into a thriving live shopping experience, selling over 27,000 items on TikTok Shop and \u201cpulling some seriously rare hits for customers,\u201d the account continues.<\/p>\n At their new Palmer store, Picciotti and Hartzell plan to offer a variety of trading card games and accessories.<\/p>\n Currently, Kyogre Kards stocks Pok\u00e9mon in English, Chinese and Japanese, along with One Piece trading cards, Picciotti said.<\/p>\n Customers also can shop Yu-Gi-Oh!, My Little Pony and Cookie Run merchandise, and the business will soon be expanding to include other trading card games, including Magic: The Gathering, Lorcana, Riftbound and more.<\/p>\n \u201cWe also sell plushies, magnets and trading card accessories like binders, top loaders, soft sleeves and other items that you would use to protect your cards,\u201d Picciotti said.<\/p>\n Picciotti and Hartzell renovated the former GameStop location, making the space feel more cozy and family-friendly.<\/p>\n There also will be a play area with a table that will be used for open play and organized events such as tournaments.<\/p>\n \u201cWe definitely want to cater to everyone \u2013 families, new collectors, experienced collectors and people who just enjoy the community,\u201d Picciotti said.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have three kids ourselves. So, we want to make sure there\u2019s an inviting, family vibe,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n Picciotti and Hartzell are big fans of trading card games, especially Pok\u00e9mon, and they\u2019re excited to share that passion with the community even further via a new physical storefront.<\/p>\n Online sales will also continue, Picciotti said.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled as this is something we\u2019ve been wanting to do for years, and we have been looking for the right retail location for a long time,\u201d Picciotti said.<\/p>\n \u201cMy husband and I bonded over Pok\u00e9mon very early on in our relationship. He was always into it and then introduced me to it. So, we have a very big Pokemon card collection, and we play all the mainline Pokemon games and Pokemon GO. Our kids are also getting into it now.
