A family of three was displaced in a house fire on 69th Street.<\/p>\n
On Saturday at 2:42 p.m., Upper Darby firefighters were dispatched to the block for a building fire.<\/p>\n
Fire was located in the rear bedroom of a two-story row home. Crews arrived to find smoke showing from the roof line with heavy smoke from a rear second-floor bedroom.<\/p>\n
A working fire dispatch was sounded, said Upper Darby Assistant Chief Robert Callahan. That brought resources from all township fire stations along with Llanerch and Darby fire companies.<\/p>\n
Crews had the flames under control in 20 minutes and there were no injuries.\u00a0A family of three was displaced and were aided by other family members, Callahan said.<\/p>\n
The cause is under investigation.<\/p>\n
Another fire displaced two residents Friday.<\/p>\n
That one was shortly before 9 a.m. in the unit block of Lamport Road.<\/p>\n
Callahan said the room-and-contents fire was quickly placed under control, however the two residents were not able to return to the property and were assisted by the Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Red Cross.<\/p>\n
