Community members, business leader and local church officials joined Saturday to raise funds for the Hope Rescue Mission and to celebrate the lives impacted by the organization\u2019s work.<\/p>\n
The mission held its annual gala at the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Reading. The event featured a dinner, guest stories, ministry updates, silent auctions, raffles and opportunities to support the organization\u2019s ongoing work serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe gala is a celebration of what God is doing through Hope Rescue Mission and through the tremendous generosity of this community,\u201d mission CEO Robert Turchi said in an announcement of the event. \u201cEvery day, we have the privilege of walking alongside people who are working to overcome tremendous challenges and move toward stability and a new future. We could not do this work without the businesses, churches, organizations, volunteers and individuals who faithfully come alongside our mission and our guests.\u201d<\/p>\n
The David H. Roland Award was presented to Recovery Coaching Services, Inc. in recognition of its work with individuals at Hope Rescue Mission who are impact by substance abuse.<\/p>\n
\u201cRecovery Coaching Services has been an extraordinary partner in caring for some of the most vulnerable people in our community,\u201d said Kate Alley, executive director of LightHouse Women & Children\u2019s Center, a mission ministry. \u201cTheir team meets people where they are, builds relationships and continues walking alongside them through the difficult work of recovery. We are incredibly grateful for their commitment to our guests and honored to recognize them with the David H.
