A woman was fatally injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday morning on Route 73 in Oley Township, Central Berks Regional police said.<\/p>\n
The crash happened at 6:18 a.m. at Philadelphia Avenue (Route 73) and Snyder Road, about 2 \u00bd miles east of the village of Oley.<\/p>\n
Police said the driver of a sedan, a 42-year-old woman who later died of her injuries in Reading Hospital, was southbound on Snyder. As she attempted to cross Route 73, she was broadsided on the driver\u2019s side by a westbound small pickup truck driven by a 22-year-old man.<\/p>\n
Both drivers were taken by ambulances to Reading Hospital. A hospital physician pronounced the woman dead.<\/p>\n
Information on the other driver\u2019s condition wasn\u2019t immediately available. Police were withholding the names of both drivers.<\/p>\n
The intersection was closed for several hours while police were on the scene.
