{"id":286305,"date":"2026-09-15T06:24:21","date_gmt":"2026-09-15T06:24:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/286305\/"},"modified":"2026-09-15T06:24:21","modified_gmt":"2026-09-15T06:24:21","slug":"third-measles-related-death-reported-in-pennsylvania","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/286305\/","title":{"rendered":"Third Measles-related Death Reported in Pennsylvania"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/respiratory-therapy.com\/disorders-diseases\/infectious-diseases\/other-infections\/2-measles-deaths-pennsylvania\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Two other deaths were reported in August<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health, there have been 693 confirmed measles cases, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pa.gov\/agencies\/health\/diseases-conditions\/infectious-disease\/measles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">as of Sept 14 data<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The third death does not yet appear in public data hosted on the state health department\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pa.gov\/agencies\/health\/diseases-conditions\/infectious-disease\/measles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">measles dashboard<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The federal government continues to dispute Pennsylvania\u2019s reported measles-related deaths. The CDC measles database continues to list an asterisk (*) under its measles death total, explaining that, \u201c*The National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) does not currently have any death records from 2026 that indicate measles is the underlying cause.\u201d <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/respiratory-therapy.com\/disorders-diseases\/infectious-diseases\/other-infections\/united-states-measles-cases-2026\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">As of September 11 data<\/a> released by the CDC, the United States has documented 3,294 cases of measles. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Two other deaths were reported in August.
