Greater Philadelphia will welcome a host of new restaurants this fall. Among the newcomers will be Glenside\u2019s Capperini, an upscale Italian-Mediterranean concept complete with a liquor license. The spot is anticipated to debut by November.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, a trip to Marshalls in Willow Grove will place you across the street from the latest location of popular breakfast-and-lunch chain Nudy\u2019s Cafe. It\u2019s targeting a late-September open. <\/p>\n

And soon, local couple Mike and Joy Grafenstine, owners of Glenside\u2019s Roberts Block and Abington\u2019s Bonnet Lane Family Restaurant, will take to Doylestown to launch an upscale American concept dubbed Tusk.<\/p>\n

With midterm elections less than two months away, much of the focus in the Pennsylvania governor race is on incumbent (and Abington resident) Josh Shapiro and his Republican opponent, Stacey Garrity. And yet, another name with local ties will appear on the ballot in November: Abington-based libertarian Ken Krawchuk, the only third-party candidate vying for the position, Spotlight PA reports<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Cheltenham police issued 32 violations to drivers during the first week back to school after school bus-mounted cameras captured them passing buses using red lights and stop signs to indicate student boarding<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A northbound lane will be closed in Cheltenham on Washington Lane between Ashbourne Road and Rock Lane through next Tuesday due to pipe replacement work<\/a>. Additionally, paving will prompt an overnight lane closure<\/a> in the township from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Friday on Ashbourne Road, Montgomery Avenue, and Central Avenue between Washington Lane and Route 73.<\/p>\n

New state legislation<\/a> mandates that elementary schoolers have at least 30 minutes of recess, according to WHYY. Cheltenham students in third through fifth grade will soon see current recess time doubled in order to comply, The Inquirer\u2019s Jess Rohan confirmed, and in Abington and Jenkintown, K-5 students already have 30 minutes of recess. <\/p>\n

Following charges against Cheltenham High School football coaches and students over alleged hazing incidents, child welfare expert Janet Rosenzweig wrote an opinion piece about the \u201cheroes\u201d of the case that has shocked the community: the victim\u2019s mother and the person who reported the attacks to the state\u2019s Safe2Say system<\/a>.<\/p>\n
