{"id":286703,"date":"2026-09-15T20:14:08","date_gmt":"2026-09-15T20:14:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/286703\/"},"modified":"2026-09-15T20:14:08","modified_gmt":"2026-09-15T20:14:08","slug":"17-year-old-held-in-scranton-for-failed-armed-robbery-and-foiled-carjacking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/286703\/","title":{"rendered":"17-year-old held in Scranton for failed armed robbery and foiled carjacking"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A 17-year-old boy was held Tuesday in <a data-ylk=\"slk:Lackawanna County;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;link&quot;,&quot;yLinkElementType&quot;:&quot;article_link&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wnep.com\/section\/lackawanna-county\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Lackawanna County<\/a> for allegedly trying to rob a woman at gunpoint and carjack a delivery driver in Scranton.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Justin Sikaffy, of Scranton, is charged as an adult with robbery, evading arrest, terroristic threats, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, resisting arrest, receiving stolen property, loitering and prowling at night time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Sikaffy tried to rob a woman at gunpoint late Monday night in the Hill Section, police said. The victim only had $1 on her and Sikaffy left with nothing.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Not long after, the police responded to a report of another robbery in South Side. Just after midnight, the police investigated a report that a man, later identified as Sikaffy, tried to carjack a DoorDash delivery driver.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">That stick-up, however, also failed. The vehicle started rolling in reverse and struck a pole.
