SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) \u2014 <\/p>\n
Scranton police announced the arrest of 17-year-old Justin Joel Sikaffy charged as an adult for two attempted armed robberies with a stolen pistol. <\/p>\n
Police responded around 11:44 p.m. Monday to the area of Quincy Avenue and Vine Street for a report of a male pointing a firearm at a woman. <\/p>\n
The victim told police the suspect approached her while she was on her porch, pointed a handgun at her and demanded money before fleeing on foot empty handed.<\/p>\n
A short time later around 12:54 a.m. Tuesday police received a report of an attempted carjacking in the area of Crown Avenue. <\/p>\n
The second victim reported the suspect approached her vehicle, displayed a gun and demanded she exit the vehicle. <\/p>\n
As the woman exited the car, the vehicle rolled down a hill and hit a fence.<\/p>\n
The suspect then fled the scene. <\/p>\n
Police units quickly established a perimeter and contained the suspect. <\/p>\n
A k-9 unit was deployed and successfully tracked the suspect hiding in a South Scranton yard. <\/p>\n
The firearm was recovered in a parking lot where the suspect tossed it. <\/p>\n
Sikaffy is charged as an adult with 2 counts of felony robbery, 2 counts felony evading arrest, felony firearms carried without a license, 2 counts of terroristic threats, 2 counts of aggravated assault, 2 counts of recklessly endangering another person, resisting, and receiving stolen property. <\/p>\n
