{"id":287187,"date":"2026-09-16T09:26:15","date_gmt":"2026-09-16T09:26:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/287187\/"},"modified":"2026-09-16T09:26:15","modified_gmt":"2026-09-16T09:26:15","slug":"trib-hssn-pennsylvania-high-school-football-rankings-for-sept-15-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/287187\/","title":{"rendered":"Trib HSSN Pennsylvania high school football rankings for Sept. 15, 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mid-September high school football has a casino feel to it with a big shuffling of the deck of the top teams in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Only two of the four classes remain unchanged from No. 1 to No. 5 in the weekly Trib HSSN state rankings.<\/p>\n<p>The biggest facelift was in Class 3A where Hopewell, Aliquippa and Archbishop Wood dropped out of the Top 5 for now, allowing Elizabeth Forward, Propel Braddock Hills and Mount Carmel to join the elite fun.<\/p>\n<p>Two of the six No. 1-ranked teams fell to defeat in Week 3, but only one lost its spot at the top of the classification.<\/p>\n<p>Class 5A No. 1 Pine-Richland lost in a WPIAL showdown to 6A top-ranked Central Catholic, yet the Rams remain on top in 5A.<\/p>\n<p>District 12 Monsignor Bonner-Archbishop Prendergast fell from No. 1 to No. 4 in Class 4A after its second loss in three weeks.<\/p>\n<p>It was replaced at No. 1 by undefeated Shamokin.<\/p>\n<p>That was the only change at the top with Central Catholic in 6A, Pine-Richland in 5A, Northwestern Lehigh in 3A, Southern Columbia in 2A and Bishop Guilfoyle Academy all still at No. 1.<\/p>\n<p>There were three head-to-head clashes of ranked teams in Week 3, but there is only one coming up in Week 4.<\/p>\n<p>Small school powers in District 10 are set to collide when Class 2A No. 2 Farrell visits Class A No. 4 Wilmington.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the latest Trib HSSN rankings in each of the six classifications. Teams are listed with overall record, last week\u2019s ranking and district.<\/p>\n<p>Class 6A<\/p>\n<p>1. Central Catholic (3-0) (1) (D-7): The Vikings defeated 5A No. 1 Pine-Richland in Week 3, 48-24. They host Norwin on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>2. Harrisburg (3-0) (3) (D-3): The Cougars defeated Cumberland Valley in Week 3, 28-7. They host Central Dauphin on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>3. State College (3-0) (5) (D-6): The Little Lions defeated No. 4 Bishop McDevitt in Week 3, 27-20. They visit Central Dauphin East on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>4. St. Joseph Prep (1-1) (2) (D-12): The Hawks lost to Bergen Catholic (NJ) in Week 3, 33-3. They host Malvern Prep on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>5. Southern Lehigh (3-0) (4) (D-11): The defending PIAA 4A champion Spartans defeated Jim Thorpe in Week 3, 43-7. They host Wilson on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>5. Twin Valley (3-0) (5) (D-3): The Raiders defeated Wyomissing in Week 3, 42-14. They visit Manheim Central on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Out: None<\/p>\n<p>Class 4A<\/p>\n<p>1.
