Cyclists can enjoy a scenic ride on the Schuylkill River Trail while supporting the river and trail at Schuylkill River Greenways\u2019 annual Ride for the River on Saturday. The event begins and ends at Pottstown Riverfront Park, 140 College Drive. There will be a 37-mile ride leaving at 9 a.m., a 15-mile ride at 9:15 and a 4-mile Family Fun Ride at 9:20.<\/p>\n

There will be a party in the park after the ride with Sly Fox Brewing Co., Handel\u2019s Ice Cream and other local businesses.<\/p>\n

Vocalist Deanna Reuben and pianist Marty Mellinger will perform classical, jazz and standards Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Alvernia University\u2019s Francis Hall theater in Reading. Proceeds aid Alvernia students in need of temporary emergency financial assistance. The concert also features Bennie Sims on bass, Paul Colombo on guitar and Bill Tesar on drums. Historic Dreibelbis Farm near Virginville, Berks County, hosts a theorem painting workshop Saturday from 10 to 1.\u00a0 Registration is required. Acquire a form by emailing dreibelbisfarm@gmail.com. The cost is $45. No previous experience is required. All materials will be provided.<\/p>\n
