{"id":287333,"date":"2026-09-16T13:58:08","date_gmt":"2026-09-16T13:58:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/287333\/"},"modified":"2026-09-16T13:58:08","modified_gmt":"2026-09-16T13:58:08","slug":"teen-accused-of-threatening-two-women-at-gunpoint","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/287333\/","title":{"rendered":"Teen accused of threatening two women at gunpoint"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE\/WYOU) \u2014 A 17-year-old is facing charges after police say he threatened two women at gunpoint, trying to rob them of money and a car.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Justin Joel Sikaffy, 17, of Scranton, was arrested for his alleged involvement in two attempted armed robberies involving a stolen gun.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Scranton Police Department reported that on September 14, officers were called to Quincy Avenue and Vine Street for a man pointing a gun at a woman. The victim told officers that Sikaffy approached her, pointing a gun and demanding money. Sikaffy eventually fled the area without the money.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><a data-ylk=\"slk:PA man &#039;preparing for a mass shooting&#039; arrested, AG says;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;link&quot;,&quot;yLinkElementType&quot;:&quot;article_link&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/www.2822news.com\/news\/crime-courts\/pa-man-preparing-for-a-mass-shooting-arrested-ag-says\/?ipid=promo-link-block1\" class=\"promo-link__link\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0PA man &#8216;preparing for a mass shooting&#8217; arrested, AG says\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Police were then told of an attempted carjacking, where they said Sikaffy pointed the gun at a woman and demanded she get out of her vehicle. When she got out of the vehicle, it rolled down the hill and struck a fence; Sikaffy then fled the scene again.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Officers said they then deployed a K-9 unit and found Skiaffy&#8217;s hiding spot in a Scranton yard. He was arrested, and the stolen gun was recovered in a parking lot after Skiaffy tossed it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Skiaffy faces robbery, evading arrest, gun offenses, and other charges related to the incident.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
