Drivers in Western Pennsylvania may find themselves stuck on Wednesday when a slow-moving superload from the Armstrong Terminal to Homer City makes its way along the busy highway in the middle of the afternoon.<\/p>\n
Drivers in Armstrong, Indiana and Westmoreland counties should expect traffic impacts. <\/p>\n
The superload is 205 feet long, 17 feet wide and weighs 381 tons. It will be delivering equipment for a new power plant and data center site.<\/p>\n
PREVIOUS COVERAGE >>> Engineer explains how months-long data center delivery could impact traffic in multiple counties<\/a><\/p>\n What is the superload\u2019s route?<\/p>\n Day 1<\/p>\n Starting at 9 a.m. on Wednesday:<\/p>\n The load will travel from Schenley to Route 66 through Leechburg and Apollo to Delmont then on to Route 22.\u00a0 <\/p>\n It will continue to the Westmoreland\/Indiana County line on Route 22 towards Blairsville.<\/p>\n The trucks will park just before Blairsville until they start to travel across the Conemaugh River from 7 p.m. to midnight. The bridge will be closed eastbound during that time. <\/p>\n Day 2<\/p>\n The load will continue on its route at 9 a.m. Tuesday. It will travel onto Campbells Mill Road (Route 3011) to Blacklick Road (Route 3013) to the Homer City Power Plant. Both personal vehicles and truck traffic will be detoured.<\/p>\n All vehicles will be detoured at the Route 119 intersection with Campbells Mill Road south to Route 22 West.\u00a0 Proceed across Route 22 West then north on Route 217 to Blacklick Road.\u00a0<\/p>\n What can drivers expect?<\/p>\n PennDOT says state police will travel in front of the trucks to look for potential hazards, and travel behind the trucks to report any damage they cause.
