BETHLEHEM, Pa. – It’s just about time to turn over a new leaf this fall season with a good book.<\/p>\n
“We’re always stocking up here,” said Emily Haddad of Bethlehem.<\/p>\n
Homeschool is back in session for Haddad, and the Bethlehem Area Public Library book sale is the ideal resource to help her children prioritize reading.<\/p>\n
“We never know what we’re going to find,” Haddad said. “Most of the time I’m just finding children’s books and then if I have time, check out some novels for myself.”<\/p>\n
Thousands of gently used, donated books fill the shelves of the ground floor book sale room.\u2002<\/p>\n
“People are leaving with bags and bags full of books, and that’s just so amazing,” said Haddad.<\/p>\n
Avid readers, from near and far, are sifting through their favorite genres.<\/p>\n
Heidi Young is visiting from Schuylkill County.<\/p>\n
“I traveled quite a distance to come here. I come looking for used books for my daughter’s coffee shop,” said Young.<\/p>\n
For bookworms looking to broaden their collection, there are also donations of CDs, records, DVDs, and video games.<\/p>\n
Book sale proceeds support the library’s operation and go towards the purchase of new books. This is one of their biggest fundraisers.<\/p>\n
“They just love when people come out and clear their shelves so that they can do it again,” said Young. “It’s a great way to support your local library.<\/p>\n
