<\/p>\nBETHLEHEM, N.C. \u2014 Two women were arrested at a Bethlehem business following an investigation into alleged prostitution activity, according to the Alexander County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
Deputies arrested the women Tuesday at Energy Wellness Center after complaints about suspected activity at the business. Investigators conducted an investigation that led to the charges.<\/p>\n
According to court documents, an undercover officer went to the business as part of the investigation. One of the suspects is also accused of trying to bribe a deputy during her arrest.<\/p>\n
Sheriff Chad Pennell said they got complaints from the community and there were negative Google reviews about the Energy Wellness Center.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne of the Google reviews was the person stated that there was more offered than just a massage,\u201d the sheriff told Pennell. \u201cAlleging that there was more stuff going on.\u201d<\/p>\n
Channel 9\u2019s Dave Faherty checked and that Google review called the business \u201cdisgusting,\u201d saying workers were setting up appointments for \u201cpretty girls\u201d and \u201cextra services,\u201d so that customer left.<\/p>\n
Yuxiang Huang, 47, of Hickory, was charged with felony promoting prostitution for profit, felony conspiracy and misdemeanor resisting a public officer. Huang is being held at the Alexander County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond. Her first court appearance is scheduled for Monday.<\/p>\n
Na Yu, 49, of Hickory, was charged with felony promoting prostitution for profit, felony conspiracy, felony offering bribes, misdemeanor prostitution and misdemeanor resisting a public officer. Yu is being held at the Alexander County Detention Center under a $160,000 secured bond. Her first court appearance is scheduled for Monday.<\/p>\n

Faherty went to the business on Wednesday, but no one came to the door.<\/p>\n
Cassie Fox lives next door to the Energy Wellness Center but had no idea the owners are accused of offering sex to the people who showed up there every afternoon. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s always just different cars,\u201d Fox told Faherty. \u201cAll kinds of people consistently. Never the same vehicles. I just thought it was like a nail place but apparently not.\u201d<\/p>\n
Tori Parker owns a hair salon down the street. Parker and her boyfriend were surprised and said they are glad deputies took action.<\/p>\n
\u201cJust nuts for something like that to be next door and we didn\u2019t even know it,\u201d Parker said.<\/p>\n
\u201cJust shocking as far as Bethlehem goes, because that kind of stuff just doesn\u2019t happen around here,\u201d said Jason Duckworth.<\/p>\n
The investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n
