Author\u2019s luncheon: The 18th annual Local Author\u2019s Luncheon to benefit the Forest City Branch of the Susquehanna County Library System will be held Oct. 14 at Elkview Country Club at Crystal Lake. This year\u2019s featured speaker is Amy Walsh, a fifth grade teacher from Scranton who has a passion for writing and sharing her love for literature with her students. She writes historical and contemporary novels as well as inspirational stories. The event will begin with a time of hospitality at 11:30 a.m. and lunch at 12:15 p.m., followed by the speaker and book signing. The cost is $25 and checks can be made payable to the Susquehanna County Library (with Forest City as a note in the memo) and mailed to 531 Main St., Forest City, PA 18421 by Oct. 7. Elkview has a \u201cno denim\u201d policy.
