\t\t\tOBITUARY\t\t<\/p>\n
James Thomas Durkin, 76, of Moscow, passed away unexpectedly on September 13, 2026.<\/p>\n
\nBorn February 19, 1950, in North Scranton, he was the son of the late James and Winnifred Noone Durkin. His wife of 52 years was the late Judith L. \u201cJudy\u201d Durkin.<\/p>\n
\nHe was a 1968 graduate of Scranton Technical High School. He earned his associate degree in business from Lackawanna College.<\/p>\n
\nJim proudly served his country as a sergeant in the United States Air Force. Prior to retirement, he was employed as an electronic technician at Tobyhanna Army Depot for 38 years, where he also served as a union steward.<\/p>\n
\nHe was an active member of Moscow United Methodist Church, where he often volunteered his time.<\/p>\n
\nJim was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved anything that involved being outdoors. He enjoyed getting out on a boat and spending days at the lake with family and friends. He was a friend to all and someone who was always there to lend a hand to anyone who needed it.<\/p>\n
\nAbove all, he treasured time spent with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.<\/p>\n
\nSurviving are his son, James, and wife, Janet, of Spring Brook Township; daughter, Sarah, of Scranton; grandchildren, Gavin and Laura Durkin; brother-in-law, Jeff Cox; and many nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n
\nIn addition to his wife, Judith, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Margaret Kryeski, Winnifred Klee, and Donna Boyd; and his brother, Bernard Durkin.<\/p>\n
\nFriends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Duffy and Snowdon Funeral Home, 401 Church Street, Moscow, PA.<\/p>\n
\nFuneral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Moscow United Methodist Church with calling from 9:00 \u2013 10:00 AM. Interment will follow immediately at Fairview Cemetery.<\/p>\n
\nIn lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the North Pocono Food Pantry.<\/p>\n
