A Scranton man and his daughter are facing felony charges after a drug sale to a confidential informant on Aug. 12, authorities say.<\/p>\n
A confidential informant told investigators from the Lackawanna County District Attorney\u2019s Office they could purchase crack cocaine from Ashley Baldwin, 35, and her father, Joseph Baldwin, 62.<\/p>\n
The informant said they could contact Ashley Baldwin via Facebook messenger and she would send her father to deliver the drug.<\/p>\n
The informant arranged to buy cocaine from Joseph Baldwin on a recorded phone line and was outfitted with a hidden audio recording device and money, according to the criminal complaint.<\/p>\n
Investigators established a perimeter around his Ash Street home and watched him leave on his motorcycle and drive to the agreed-upon location.<\/p>\n
Authorities watched Baldwin meet with the informant and hand over cocaine in exchange for cash, officers said. The informant then turned over the cocaine to investigators<\/p>\n
The transaction was recorded, according to the criminal complaint.<\/p>\n
Both face felony charges of delivery of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility.<\/p>\n
Joseph Baldwin also faces misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and of a controlled substance. He\u00a0 was a arraigned Monday and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for 9 a.m. on Sept. 24 before District Judge Paul Ware. He remains in Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail.<\/p>\n
