Josh Shapiro delivered the keynote speech at the AI Horizons 2026 Summit Thursday afternoon, emphasizing the importance of responsible, safe, and ethical uses of artificial intelligence.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"1\">&#8220;I want to be clear: I am not a doomer. I don&#8217;t think it is inevitable that AI is going to take over the world, or that someone will misuse it to kill us or to do harm. But I do have real concerns, as do many Pennsylvanians and many Americans,&#8221; Shapiro said.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"2\">Shapiro said Pennsylvania has the potential to lead AI conversations due to its prominent educational institutions, including Penn State, Carnegie Mellon, Pitt, and the University of Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"3\">He also stated that the federal government should collaborate with leading researchers and experts to develop strict guardrails for AI technology and its development.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Gov.
