NORTH EAST TOWNSHIP, Pa. \u2014 Nine people were taken to local hospitals after a crash involving a Greyhound bus and a tractor-trailer early Thursday morning on Interstate 90, according to Pennsylvania State Police.<\/p>\n
The crash happened around 12:21 a.m. in the westbound lanes near mile marker 45.6 in North East Township.<\/p>\n
Police said the bus was carrying 36 passengers. Nine were transported to UPMC Hamot and AHN Saint Vincent Hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n
The tractor-trailer was carrying pallets of Factor prepared meals, and the collision scattered thousands of meals across both westbound lanes, according to troopers.<\/p>\n
The bus, tractor-trailer and spilled cargo completely blocked the highway, forcing that section of I-90 to close for several hours, state police said.<\/p>\n
