The Shapiro Administration will be supporting a Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) following the request of Erie officials.<\/p>\n
This center will assist those in the community who have suffered significant losses due to the severe storms and heavy rain that swept the Erie area two weeks ago.<\/p>\n
The MARC is open to residents and business owners in the Erie County area who were affected.<\/p>\n
\u201cStrong wind from the severe storms caused significant damage to many homes, businesses and public property across Erie,\u201d said Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) Director Randy Padfield. \u201cHaving necessary resources and services available in one location for the community makes it a little easier for everyone to navigate the recovery process.\u201d<\/p>\n
Pennsylvania state agencies scheduled to participate or provide information include:<\/p>\n
PA Department of Agriculture<\/p>\n
PA Department of Human Services<\/p>\n
PA Emergency Management Agency<\/p>\n
PA Insurance Department<\/p>\n
PA Office of the Attorney General<\/p>\n
Some resources include information on checking insurance coverage for damages, benefits, and disabilities support, community support services, and other recovery information and resources.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom the beginning of this devastating storm, our focus has been on our Erie community and making sure our residents have the support and resources they need,” said Mayor Daria S. Devlin. “We are so grateful to PEMA and our state partners as we continue this work. We know there is still a lot to do, but we will continue to show up for our residents, work together, and do everything we can to help our community recover.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe damage from these storms has affected families, businesses and communities across Erie County, and this resource center brings the people and services they need together under one roof,\u201d said Erie County Executive Christina M. Vogel. \u201cWe will continue working with our state and local partners to make sure our residents have the support they need to recover and rebuild.\u201d<\/p>\n
