Semifinalists are selected based on their performance on the Preliminary SAT\/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT\/NMSQT), along with other program criteria.<\/p>\n<p>Only 16,000 students nationwide have been named semifinalists, representing less than 1% of high school seniors. More than 1.2 million students in the U.S. took the qualifying PSAT offered in their junior year in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The six BC semifinalists are among the top-performing students in the country, now eligible to compete for more than $24 million in scholarships that will be awarded in spring 2027.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations, and best of luck to Elliot, Anna, Andrew, Bhargava, Jack and Hasni!<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the semifinalists, 16 BCHS seniors have been named National Merit Commended students.
