BERKS COUNTY, Pa. – It’s another day of record-breaking diesel prices in Berks County. According to AAA, Thursday\u2019s average for a gallon of diesel is $6.53, which is up nine cents since Wednesday.<\/p>\n
With no end in sight for the war in Iran, prices are likely to continue rising.<\/p>\n
These recent high prices beat records that were set back in 2022, and those in the trucking industry say they’re feeling the squeeze.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen it jumps so quick, you can’t quite increase your rates quick enough to offset it quick enough,\u201d said Bradley Wanner, Vice President of Peters Brothers Trucking.<\/p>\n
\u201cEven if fuel went down, back down to $2 a gallon right now, you’re still going to see increases because there’s been such a pinch for so many years,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
