WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. &#8212; A familiar face will continue to lead the South Whitehall Township Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>Stephen Brown was appointed as chief of police, the department announced Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>He&#8217;s been serving as interim chief since March. Brown has been with the department since 2007, rising through the ranks from police officer to interim chief and now chief.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Throughout his career, he has played a significant role in department operations, training, accreditation, community relations, school resource officer programs, policy development, and organizational leadership,&#8221; the police department said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Brown took over for former chief Frank Lombardo, who left in late February after almost a year with the department.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"South Whitehall Township Police Department S.
