(WPVI) &#8212; Two people were taken to the hospital after a large tree came crashing down on a roadway Friday afternoon in Montgomery County.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">It happened around 1:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Belmont Avenue at the split for Old Belmont Avenue in Bala Cynwyd.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Authorities tell Action News that the tree hit two vehicles and a traffic signal when it came down.<\/p>\n<p>Chopper 6 over scene of tree fall in Bala Cynwyd<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">There was no immediate word on how seriously the victims were injured.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Belmont is closed between Jefferson and Rockhill, as is the EB Belmont Ave ramp from I-76.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The closure is expected to last through the evening rush as crews work to clear the accident and tree.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC eTIW sUzSN \">They also need to make repairs to the traffic signal.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2026 WPVI-TV.
