Now through Oct. 15, the city is turning up the music, art, food and festivities in honor of the region\u2019s vibrant Hispanic and Latino community. From colorful art exhibits and the annual Puerto Rican Day Parade to a weeklong celebration of Latino-owned restaurants, there\u2019s no shortage of ways to experience the culture, traditions and creativity that make Philly’s Hispanic community so special.<\/p>\n

\u2018Viviendo a Trav\u00e9s de la Muerte\u2019<\/p>\n
Philadelphia Magic Gardens is showcasing \u2018Viviendo a Trav\u00e9s de la Muerte (Living Through Death)\u2019, a new exhibition by Mexican multidisciplinary artist Ivette Chaires<\/a> that features sculptures inspired by D\u00eda de los Muertos. The showcase highlights Chaires\u2019 use of cartoner\u00eda, a traditional Mexican papier-m\u00e2ch\u00e9 technique used to create expressive forms.<\/p>\n 1020 South St.,\u00a0phillymagicgardens.org<\/a><\/p>\n Salsa Class\u00a0 in FDR Park<\/p>\n On Friday, Sept. 25, salsa and bachata lovers can head to FDR Park for an evening of dancing, music and fall fun. DJ Valentin Flores will kick things off with a one-hour Latin dance lesson at Gateway Plaza, followed by hours of social dancing for all ages and skill levels.<\/p>\n Whether you\u2019re a seasoned dancer or just learning your first steps, the party is a chance to meet fellow dance enthusiasts and learn all the hottest Latin dance moves.
