Panda Fest comes to Pittsburgh during nationwide tour<\/p>\n

Panda Fest, the largest outdoor Asian food festival in the United States, is making its debut in Pittsburgh as part of its nationwide tour, with organizers expecting it to draw at least 50,000 people to the city. <\/p>\n

Ang Zou, co-founder of Panda Fest, shared his excitement about the event.<\/p>\n

“Panda Fest is the biggest outdoor Asian food festival in the U.S. We travel to different cities, and this time is our first time in Pittsburgh. We are so glad and so excited to be here,” Zou said. <\/p>\n

The festival offers a cultural experience with music, 80 food vendors, and more than 200 types of Asian cuisine.<\/p>\n

“Our saucy bao, a prime example of Chinese traditional food,” said vendor Leo Lieu. <\/p>\n

Zou highlighted some of the dishes available at the festival.<\/p>\n

Pittsburgh Action News 4 Anchor\/Reporter Chandi Chapman asked, “Can you show us some of this food that’s going to be here at the festival?”<\/p>\n

“So let’s start here. This is pan-fried bao, beef, pork, chicken, and veggie,” Zou said. “If you are a seafood lover, this is king squid.” <\/p>\n

Organizers believe the event could provide an economic boost to Pittsburgh, particularly in Station Square, where some businesses have recently closed. A spokesperson for Station Square said they are excited about Panda Fest and view it as a great addition to the area. <\/p>\n

Vendors expressed their enthusiasm for sharing their merchandise and culture with attendees.<\/p>\n

“Coming here makes me feel like I’m coming back to a place I used to visit once, but this time I come and bring tea from my hometown. It makes me feel very appreciated for being here, and to know more people in Pittsburgh makes me very happy,” said vendor Wendy Wu. <\/p>\n

“This philosophy has been around for thousands of years, and it’s really helped form a lot of Chinese culture. I think bringing it to Pittsburgh and teaching people and helping people learn about it will be a wonderful experience,” said vendor Ryan Wang. <\/p>\n
