Lace up your sneakers and join the Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley for the 17th annual Ready, Set, GOLD 5K Walk, 8K Run and Kids\u2019 Fun Run, presented by Heavy and Highway Construction Laborers\u2019 Local 158.<\/p>\n
Join the Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley at the Ironton Rail Trail for a morning of fitness, family fun, and community \u2014 all while making a meaningful difference for local kids with cancer and their families. Enjoy food, music, raffles, superhero fun, and more. Every registration helps PCFLV provide critical support, joyful programs, and lasting memories for families in the Lehigh Valley facing pediatric cancer. The 8K Run starts at 8:30 a.m. The 5K Walk will start at 9 a.m. and the Fun Run\/Obstacle Course for kids 12 and under will start at 10:30 a.m.<\/p>\n
Wildlands Conservancy \u2014 Monarch Tagging and Meadow Exploration will be held 10 a.m. to noon at Trexler Nature Preserve- Environmental Education Center, 4935 Orchard Road, Schnecksville. Explore vibrant meadow habitats while learning about monarch butterfly populations in the Lehigh Valley, led by our Senior Restoration Ecologist and a Wildlands Environmental Educator. The Upper Lehigh Historical Society is celebrating 250 years of our country\u2019s history with a day of education from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Schneck House, built by founding father Adam Schneck in the mid 1700s at 5081 Route 873, Schnecksville. They will be opening the house, garden, goat shed with goats inside and summer kitchen for tours. Crafters and hobbyists will be available to share their early history stories. They also have children\u2019s activities prepared, such as making tri corner hats, \u201cmop\u201d caps, little hex signs, and even whirligigs. Phil\u2019s Food Truck will make funnel cakes and other delicious specialities. Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, (Leather Corner Post), will hold its annual fall picnic 4 to 8 p.m. There will be live music by \u201cMidnight Special\u201d from 5 to 8 p.m. They will also have great food, baked goods, basket raffle and a cake walk. Handicap accessible if needed at end of church, lower level. They will also be having a basket raffle.
