Someone was struck by a train and killed Friday morning in Colwyn.<\/p>\n
Police and first responders were dispatched about 7:15 a.m. to the 400 block of Pine Street in Darby for a pedestrian struck by a SEPTA regional rail train north of the station.<\/p>\n
A search for a victim went on for some time.<\/p>\n
At 7:45 a.m., police radio traffic indicated a victim was located by Amtrak police on the side of tracks in Colwyn.<\/p>\n
Jennifer Hoff, Colwyn borough manager, confirmed \u201ca death by train\u201d and said SEPTA police are handling the investigation.<\/p>\n
The Delaware County Medical Examiner also responded to the incident, a spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
SEPTA spokesman Joe Leonard added: \u201cAt around 7 am this morning, a Wilmington\/Newark Line train struck and killed a person in the tracks just north of Darby Station. An investigation is currently underway.
