For Gopi Perikh, the row of flashing, blinking skills game machines at her 7-Eleven job in Levittown might not seem like something that prevents robberies, but she\u2019s pretty sure it does.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you\u2019re here alone and there\u2019s someone over there playing the machines, you feel safe \u2014 especially at night,\u201d she said. \u201cIt just makes you feel like you are less likely to be robbed.\u201d<\/p>\n

That unconventional security system may soon be gone, thanks in part to the judges on the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n

In June the court ruled that skill games meet the state\u2019s definition of a slot machine and are therefore operating illegally in scores of storefronts across the state.<\/p>\n
