After over 30 years in the industry and 25 at KDKA-TV, reporter Ross Guidotti is hanging up his microphone.<\/p>\n
Loved for his direct approach and brutal honesty, Guidotti tells KDKA Radio\u2019s Larry Richert his last day is Friday because he doesn\u2019t feel like he has it anymore.<\/p>\n
\u201cI felt I couldn\u2019t do the job anymore,\u201d said Guidotti admitting he\u2019s tired.<\/p>\n
He says after a conversation with his wife he decided he wants to do something new.<\/p>\n
Guidotti turns 60 on Saturday and says the biggest motivating factor for him is getting to spend more time with his family, especially his granddaughter. <\/p>\n
Guidotti also talked about getting emotional while being recognized by Allegheny County Council recently. He says he looked at his mother and wondered how he had gotten to this place in his life.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy family actually came to Pittsburgh, the Polish side came right at the end of the 1800s, my Italian side right at the beginning of the 1900s and we have been Allegheny County residents, except a few times where I had to work or something, my entire life,\u201d said Guidotti.<\/p>\n
So, at only 60-years-old, what\u2019s next for Ross Guidotti? \u201cI have no earthly idea, I really don\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n
He adds the point of retiring is to step away but says he will be back doing something, someday, you probably just won\u2019t see him on TV.<\/p>\n
\u201cI could spend the rest of my days on this planet fixing snowblowers and lawnmowers and be just as happy doing that,\u201d said Guidotti.<\/p>\n
