\t\t\tOBITUARY\t\t<\/p>\n
Joseph David Green, 76, formerly of Moscow who was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, passed away peacefully with family at his side on Wednesday September 16th. He is survived by his wife, Linda Ann D\u2019Oro Green.<\/p>\n
\nBorn in Scranton, son of Catherine Bonitz Green, Scranton and the late John Green, he graduated from Scranton Technical High School in 1969 and went on to proudly serve in the United States Navy, embodying the virtues of courage and dedication throughout his life. After his honorable military service, Joseph found his calling in the workforce, initially in the trucking industry. His career path eventually led him to the North Pocono School District, where he worked until his retirement as the Director of Grounds. Joseph was a man of many passions, which he pursued with enthusiasm. An avid hunter and fisherman, he found peace and adventure in the great outdoors. His love for country music and county line dancing brought him and Linda much happiness, as did their frequent trips to the beach. Joseph also appreciated the simple pleasure of a good cigar while watching a New York Yankees game.<\/p>\n
\nIn 1970, Joseph married the love of his life, Linda Ann D\u2019Oro. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership, celebrating their 56th anniversary in June. Together, they built a family filled with joy, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Their children, Laurie Ann and husband Dave Opalka, Joseph and partner Diana Chong, and Rebecca Hall and fianc\u00e9 David Hertz, along with their eight grandchildren\u2014Jake, Madison, Brandon, Zachary, Gavin, Cortina, Ciara, and Joseph\u2014were the pride and joy of Joseph\u2019s life. Also surviving are his siblings: Cathy and Michael Sohns; and John and Rosemary Green and Ron and Betty Jean Green; and several nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n
\nIn addition to his father, Joe was also preceded in death by his sister, Susan Razny, whose memories he cherished dearly.<\/p>\n
\nThe family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Greenridge Care Center for their dedicated care during Joseph\u2019s final days.<\/p>\n
\nAs per Joe\u2019s request, a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.<\/p>\n
